The Wild on our doorstep

In the late autumn last year I walked with Liz Hamilton across the fields near my home to the charming village of Ayot St. Lawrence. As we walked, we talked of the beauty of rural Hertfordshire, of how few people really seem to know the countryside on their doorstep and of my book 'As I Go A Wandering'. Liz has cleverly woven the thoughts in our conversation with her own wanderings and wonderings of other writers. The result is a splendid article in this month's edition of 'Hertfordshire Country Life'.
As she says, 'Being limited to local green spaces by the pandemic does not mean a limited experience. If we take the time to look and listen we can connect with nature's rhythms.'
